Cell factory design

The design of biosynthetic pathways for both natural and unnatural compounds can be performed by assembling partial pathways recruited from different species, by engineering existing pathways and by using engineered enzymes exploring the natural diversity of enzyme-catalyzed reactions across several species.

SilicoLife's in silico models and tools help in the definition of non-obvious metabolic engineering strategies and in the specification of pathway designs aiming at the rational engineering of microbial factories.

The inclusion of a candidate set of heterologous pathways in such a model can be used to predict cell behavior after their incorporation, such as product yield and cell growth, and also to assess the potential of the successful implementation of a designed pathway by using proprietary tools.

Further, the optimization of these modified strains using in silico metabolic models and algorithms leads to the high-level production of specific metabolites while saving time and resources in laboratorial experimentation.
